Questions for anyone experienced with setting up a car meet...

So. A couple coworkers and I began brainstorming on how to go about setting up a big meet for auto enthusiasts in our area. See, while I attend college, I currently live with my dad- In Bristol, NH. I don't know if any of you are from this general area, (Laconia, Meredith, Weirs Beach, Newfound Lake etc., if any of it rings a bell.) But there is little in the way of things to do, especially this time of year. So anyways, we were thinking about trying to organize a meet, as we're interested in meeting other people in the area who are into cars (of which there are quite a bit, since there isn't much else to do BUT spend money hooking up one's car.) Any suggestions on how to go about this? Obviously we'll probably need to find a large parking lot someone will let us use/rent, and inform the local police about our gathering. We'd also like to try to get some vendors, maybe.
