Just Changing the Exhaust headers?

Just changing the Extractors without doing the whole system?
Is this a wise thing to do?
Is the 2.25 exhaust pipe gonna make much difference performance wise? if i stick with the stock exhaust just change the extractors...am i still gonna get that power gain?

No worries just changing the extractors. You will see a nice power increase with a good set. The exhaust will help a little in concert with the extractors, but in general, exhausts do little for our cars normally aspirated.

I ran extractors in my P10 with stock exhaust before installing the turbo. In fact, I'm still running the stock exhaust. I just haven't gotten aroundn to fabricating a new exhaust yet.

Jebus George! You're all over the place here. I see a new question and you're all over it. I'm going to change the name of the forum to the "Ask George" forum.

Really? So all I need is a better muffler? I did read somewhere that the stock exhaust is has been well designed, it's just the muffler that's restrictive.

Cool

I read somewhere on the ser website that changing to an aftermarket exhaust on the G20 will only net you about 2-4hp. Apparently they come with a pretty good set up from the factory.

Extractors are another name for headers which are used to replace restrictive factory exhaust manifolds .

Hey Patrick,
Check out the hotshot here,
http://64.38.203.52/temp/hotshot/products_headers.htm
and make sure you have something soft to land on when you see the price (remember that's in US dollars. ) You could get the complete Pete VB system for what it would cost you to get a Hotshot here.

In their defence though, they are regarded as the best, they're ceramic coated and they claim 12 "wheel" hp.

hm....
hey..you should email Peter VB, ask him to do a dyno test on a P11 with and without the header fitted..see how much gain it would give....
if it gives anything over 10hp may be his header sales figure can be doubled or even tripled by doing internet sales....i mean the price is QUITE A BIT cheaper man....far....

I believe they are still $425 US. Some places sell them cheaper, but deliver is sporadic at best through these places.
