Has anyone had a look at the pictures? (detail set *hint hint*) It may explain why it is selling for $169.

Well still, asking 169 bucks for this is disapointing. 80$ should do

Those detail sets alone cost $85, do your homework before you freak out on something.

Wouldn't the Sakatsu set be redundant next to the SMS set?

Hey what do you expect man? It's eBay for crying out loud.

The reason for the price high is because the Sporswear kit, and both SMS and Sakatsu sets appear to be out of print. Okay, it isn't the proper Sporswear CLK, rather a D2/Warsteiner job with decals probably out of the clear view kit. But for someone desperate for a Sportswear CLK and a bunch of detail bits it might be worth it.

Do the math:

SMS detail set: US$10
Sakatsu grade-up parts: US$90
CLK Sportswear kit: US$20

Works out to about US$120 original price. Obviously the rest of the price premium is due to it's percieved rarity. Might've been fair enough if it was the real Sportwear kit.

I've seen plenty of this sort of stuff on eBay, like people selling a 1/12 Tamiya M23 Yardley kit with some S27 decals and calling it a Marlboro McLaren

Buyer beware.

Jay: The Sakatsu set contains a few things the SMS set misses out on, definitely worth the cost - the SMS set on the other hand... Luckily I got mine on special
