Mercedes CLK-GTR **PIC**

Here is the Mercedes CLK-GTR I was working on Last Week. It was paint with Tamiya TS-30 Silver but the paint is rugh. I have try to put a clear on a scrap part, but the silver get lot darker.. so I decided to leave the Paint like that. So it's not really my best model.. Also You can see Mold Line.. I have send them with 400 grid sandpaper and with 1500 but you can see them. I Also Run out of Primer so it's a big badluck car

Excellent job. Good eye to detail, though I think it would look better if you got some aftermarket seatbelts or made your own.

I really like that, I wish I would build one, but I am too into WRC cars to stray from the pile of WRC kits I have right now......

Question: TS-50 is silver? the TS-50 I have is Mica Blue.....that confused me

If you had put the same time and care into preping the bodywork as you have put into the interior and engine, you would have a perfect model!

Good job, but i'm sure u will agree its a lesson learned.

Haha if you want to give me Aftermarket seatbelt, let me know but when you pay the same price for a set of seatbelt and the Model itself, I thinks something is a bit overpriced

I think you can make a lot of seatbelts from just one $15 set. When you build a lot of race cars, that becomes a nice investment..

Haha that what I Have done

The Engin was made in 3 day
The interior in.. 1 hours ?
The Body: 7 day......

This is a badluck model. My putty made strange thing (was very rugh even after hours of sanding) I ran out of Primer and my HobbyShop didn't have any. I past over 3 hours to sand the damn Mold Line but I can't get them perfect... it was smooth on the tutch, but the paint didn't cover those imperfection (and so the primer that was only a very light coat)

Apart from the problems you had with the body I think you've made a great job with this model.
A lovely racing machine this Mercedes. Great work in the cockpit and engine.
My only suggestion is for you to sand the tyres.
