JWT Roller Cams

I know that many of you have this subject near and dear to your hearts. This was just posted to the SE-R Mailing List by Rob Cadle who has been heavily involved with thier cam testing.

=======================================

>And I don't think there are any cams to work with the roller rockers
>yet either.

Not yet. But JWT has prototyped a set of S-3's for the roller motor. I
have seen the dyno results from the first prototype, and they work very
well. I think JWT is going to do some more testing, but expect these cams to be available in the next 4-6 months.

=======================================

So, it looks like they won't be available for a little while yet, but they should be pretty doggone good when they are. Worth waiting for.

Aren't you following the discussion on the SE-R List? I thought you were there.......

Anyway, the main differences are the roller rockers, the crank has be lightened and it doesn't have the bearing support (girdle).

The crank and lack of girdle is supposed to be good for around 8 hp according to Andreas Miko. I believe this guy. If you don't know who he is, he built a drag racing SE-R that over a year ago shattered the SE-R 1320 record for someone outside the US. It made that time after shutting down for something like the last 300'! It made the run and was promptly shipped to its destination.

OK, this photo shows the rockers. The contrast is a little high unfortunately, but they are near the bottom - they have a shinny pad with dark oil stained fingers that set on the valves.
