Is it possible to put the R34 engine in a Skyline V35?

I want to know if it is possible to have the R34 engine or even then R33 engine in the new Skyline V35? Also does anyone have specs on the V35 what is the major differneces compared to the American version the Infiniti?

True the rb26 is a strong engine and the turbos add power. That is a given. Have you read any reviews on the G35 or Skyline 3.5 Coupe? I think you should leave the new skylines alone until further notice. Besides there are other cars out there that you can go mad scientist on and would turn out tons cooler.

I have the new 2003.5 G35 sedan. Motor Trend said the only problem they saw was the 280hp was not offered in the sedan. So why is it not a good idea?

Putting the RB into a G35 is a bad idea because...

First, it probably won't fit. The RB inline-6 is nearly twice as long as the VQ V6. It's very doubtful Nissan designed the V35 chassis with that much extra room in the engine bay. On top of that, you would still have to take into consideration how you are going to get the Getrag 6-speed manual tranny into an automatic car.

Second, if the Rb will even fit, the swap is probably illegal. In most states, you must swap an engine of the same model year or newer. The GT-R stopped production in '01, I believe. The G35 wasn't available until '02. Emissions compliance is another issue. The Rb won't even pass in Japan soon, so it would need some modifications just to pass in the US.

Third, even if the engine would fit and the swap were legal, you'd destroy the G35's handling characteristics. It'd be a completely different car.

If you want more power from your G35, wait for Greddy's 350Z turbo kit.

when dealing with engine's anything is possible it just takes a lot of time and A lottttt of money literally! you can make a engine fit in any car even if the tranny is to short or long or if there are any wiring engine problem's, remember there's something called tubed framed chassis car's nowaday's if you don't know do some research on a search engine, ok buddy.

You can always put a couple of couple of JATO rockets on a V.W. Bug, but that doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do. Sure it's one hell of a two second ride, you just can't tell anyone about it when its over........... :bandit:

what's your point exactly?

anything can be done with money. wow.
and why the "i know everything attitude" i'm sure we all know what tube frame cars are, and no one here is planning on one.

the real answer here is no. if you want your car to be street legal, no it won't work. sorry.

swaps have to be same year or newer motor. and as stated, the emissions problem is huge there.

also, the v35, which is the new skyline, should be available with a tt 400hp motor soon, and that would beat out an rb anyways. new technology is nice.

I suggest you remove that skyline as your signature since i see you have no respect for rb engine's , tssk. tssk. tt technology my ass :silly2: , like if i see people pulling 500 hp from a v-6 with internal's bone stock anytime time soon , but i must say i would like a ride in that upcoming r-35 v-6, technology doesn't not mean a thing to me when you refer to a skyline, phooey!

and yeah, apparently technology meant something to nissan. since they stepped it up.

please don't tell me what i do and don't respect.

i respect the skyline. i don't worship it.

and as of right now, you've given me no reason to respect you.

Um, you know Nissan got nearly 540hp out of the turbo VQ30 used in their JGTC R34 GT-R, right?
Top Secret has already made 570hp with a VQ35 turbo...in another R34.

Soon enough?

There are also two Maxima owners with street driven cars running stock internals: One has with a homegrown turbo kit, and the other has a Stillen Vortech V1 supercharger and a 35-shot of nitrous. Both are making 429fwhp from their VQ30DEs. If you factor in a modest 15% drivetrain loss, they are producing is nearly 500 crank hp. The owner with the supercharger and nitrous has run an 11.9 in the 1/4 mile. The owner with the turbo kit made his 429fwhp with a stock transmission in the high elevation of Colorado.
