Unhappy Ticking noise from engine? Help!

I have been sent round in circles trying to answer this one.

Problem is a ticking noise from the engine on idel that goes away when you touch the gas. I have been told it could be camshaft, lifters or valves, but I am still unsure? Please help!

Steve

Quite possibly could be those things. You might also want to check where the belts run on the pulleys. Umm, that is all that I can think of right now.
