Hey everybody,
can somebody give me any details about the Fujimi 1/16 Ferrari 288 GTO Kit? Is it worth purchasing and spending that much money or should I preferably stick to the 1/24 kit? |

Re: 1/16 Ferrari 288 GTO
Hello. The 1/24 kit from fujimi has much more details and - very important - the parts are better. i'm working on a 1/16 kit and spent most of the time with scratchbuilding the parts.

I would agree that the 1/24 carries much more detail for its scale, and it has a better-looking wheel and tire package than the 1/16 car.
That said, I don't know if I'd necessarily pass on the 1/16, 'cause it's still plenty good - better than the Testarossa, I think. It's got the opening doors, a very detailed engine, and if I remember correctly - it's been over a decade since I last saw mine - the panels fit pretty well, and the body was nicely proportioned. If you can get the 1:16 at a good price, perhaps examine its contents on one of the japanese hobby pages, I'd think it's worth at least a look. |

Well since the post is very old, I had the chance to get the 1/16 and the 1/24. After having viewed both and having build the 1/16 F40 IŽd stick with the 1/24 enthusiast scale models. Way better and as said before the tires and wheels look better!

With the 1/16 Ferrari 288 GTO being re-released by Fujimi earlier this month, can anyone tell me if there is any difference between the original version vs. the re-released one? Fujimi has been making small changes on a few of its re-releases, fixing problems, making new part trees, etc. Just wondering if this kit got anything new. Perhaps a more correct wheel/tire package, as I've read the original was very poor.
