What's the best wax to use out there?

I am thinking of getting a bottle of automotive wax to make my clk even shinier. I have used Tamiya Compound and Turtle Carnuba (sp?) Wax on a coat of Future before but (for me) it just doesn't seem shiny enough!! I can read fineprint reflected off the clk but damn, I want this baby to shine like cars at the autoshow!

Any suggestions on what a good, relatively cheap alternative is? I don't feel like forking out $18 CDN + 15% tax for the Tamiya stuff either although I've heard it's really good.

Okay, so you want the best ever shine but you're not willing to pay for it? The Tamiya wax can go on your windows, decals and any kind of paint, it makes it all look great! Nothing is going to work miracles though, you have to have a good polishing job done first.

Well, if I could afford an arm and a leg for modelling accessories then sure I'd buy some Tamiya wax... but damn! In T.O that stuff costs as much as a model!

Besides, real cars don't use Tamiya wax! Therefore, I'm thinking there must be some magical car wax out there that could do the job!

Zymol works if you want to use an automotive wax. Otherwise Tamiya and Hasegawa is good.

You cant beat Tamiya wax.
It may cost alot but it goes a very long way.
Ive only just brought my 2nd bottle after building 70-80 models

Before you go putting on layer of wax on your model, remember that most show cars have around 5-10 layers of clearcoat for extra sheen.

I also highly recommend tamiya wax. Caranuba too often attracts dust due to its sticky-like makeup.

Car waxes only work when the surface itself is as shiny as possible, liek the factory paint jobs that already have mega coats of clear, have been cured in 340 degree ovens, etc. Tamiya wax is more forgiving

There is the case of Hawk's camaro that he used Zaino on. That's some $40 synthetic wax though.

I treat Zaino a bit differently, anything that requires so many steps and different components HAS to be good and work on anything !

Also Hawk only uses Duplicolor automotive lacquers, with 10 coats of clear and 7 of body..
