Welcome to the board...The pros are its a 4g...The cons are its a 1.5 4 speed. Dont worry about the power steering, while driving you really cant tell a difference.

the 4 speed is for ecno daily driving . 86,000mi. is really good. i would recomend doing the MPFI conversion and picking up a Si tranny. it will almost be as good as having a Si

in my opinion, i like not having power steering in the hatch. i also have a LX with power steering. that thing feels so loosey goosey around the corners. of course not having power steering = sucks turning the wheel at a dead stop. roll a little and it's easier

welcome to the boards, the power steering thing is only an issue at dead stops like ami said, but you'll get used to it.

what part of NY are you from, i can reccommend a few shops for your swap.

Only time I notice the lack of power steering is when I'm parallel parking, the ratio's not very good so you have to turn it alot more than you would with a power steering rack but it'ls definitely not a problem to get used to.

The 4spd is stronger than any five speed will be just because of the nature of it, there's one less gear so they were able to make the other gears beefier. If you had more power it would be a pretty good gearbox really, 2nd gear is a little too tall and way too long but if you put some power behind it, it would be nice. The good part is it'll do 105 in third gear!!!!!!!! HEHEHEHEHE. the little d15b2 doesn't do too bad, it'll pull ya around, ya just gotta learn how to push it to the max, only problem is it will burn oil like crazy if you run it hard.

ok so i had two civic hatchbacks, i totaled one because i wasn't paying attention, the other one i got ran into a creek by an old lady asleep at the wheel, then i got a CRX was being retarded hit a deer at 90 and flipped, so now i drive a 1992 celica GT and i love it, done with being stupid, this one will not be wrecked.

Yea, no powersteering isn't a problem, even at a dead stop. 86k miles isn't bad at all, mine had 179k, and starting to show problems. I can't really say anything on the 4spd, i got a dx and its got a 5th gear, but all it mainly is is overdrive, 5th gear does help me out any. And as red4thgencivic said, the d15b2 isn't that bad, good engine to learn how to push engines too their limits, i'm actually just startin to open mine up more, getting better on my shifts.

Yea, you will need the P28 ecu. I got a Z6 sittin in my garage just waiting to be worked on, got the trany with it and the p28 ecu. gotta get some money going.

OH yea, welcome sorry for the long post, i do that sometimes
