My run in with a 1.8 Turbo jetta

so a buddy of mine just got the 1.8L turbo jetta and decided that tonight we needed a race. we pulled up to a red light knowing to go for it on green and i pull him off the line and continue to pull him till the next light. we take off again and i leave him in the dust. Im not too sure how this all happened considering i drive an Escape with the 3.0L engine. he said his engine gets about 250 HP while mine is only 201 HP.
anyways, a nice night out

250hp is a chipped 1.8t. Very responsive engines

I'm surprised that you won in an Escape. Nice kill

surprised

frankly, i'm really surpirsed that you beat him even if he did have the old 150hp turbo engine. now the 1.8T has 180, but anyway...are you sure he didn't have a 115hp 2.0 four cylinder with an extra powerful imaginary turbo?!

anyway, who am I to question your kil??? good job and keep it up!!

oh good point Monkeymagic I guess i wasn't paying attention when i read his post. didn't catch the part that he was racing his friend and he actually knew it was a 1.8T. Yet, i think its amazing that the escape beat that 1.8T. unless the jetta was an automotic i think it should have pulled away from the escape. whatever, it was a kill and i respect that.:smoker2: :smoker2:

I think he was running it stock. He "claimed" it had 250 HP, so thats what i believed. It was stock except for a HUGE system he had put in (2 12s). Anyways, tonight a rematch. Me in his jetta and him in my Escape. I know he has a huge lead in the top end so it should be good. He kept spinning his tires at the start, so i think if i can control that ill have him in his car too.

lol, that 'huge system' is actually going to decrease his shit if he's got it running when he races you. go ahead and have him turn it up full blast just before you go so you drain his battery. :licker:

yup, extra weight, stock weak 180hp engine= not fast. i killed a jetta 1.8t with 180hp by 3 cars once. and i killed him from a 20mph roll too. :smoka:
