Clutch problem

I have a ? about my stealth. I know it's not a 3000 but there practically the same cars. All of my clutch fluid leaked out and the guy that's working on it said that if the sylenoid is bad that he'd have to replace the clutch also. This just doesn't make sense to me and I don't want to replace the clutch cuz my entire tranny was just rebuilt and there's a new stage 2 clutch in there? Will it really need to be replaced or is this guy just trying to make some $$$.
