Tracknose Model A Roadster

This is another project that's been on & off the bench a few times - at the moment I seem to have a thing for hot rods so it's been dusted off again
It's the AMT Model A Roadster on the AMT Phantom Vickie frame together wth a Model Car Garage resin tracknose & Pegasus rims. It may just end up as a kerbside due to space limitations with the hood - sorry the pics not the best.

Thanks for looking
Andy

So you are getting into hot rods again, huh? I don't think there are enough of them on here. this one looks pretty promising.

oh yeah, I love some track nose cars...I'm working on one myself, your right about the space limitations under that hood.

Look forward to seeing more of this one for sure!!!

Re: Tracknose Model A Roadster

I've decided to add an engine to this one but the choice is limited due to :
the narrow hood & what engines I've got in the spares box.
The only suitable engine I've come up with is the 302 from the R-M 32 Ford 3 window - I've added the engine mounts from the same kit to the AMT frame and luckily the rear mount matches the AMT frame. The air cleaner and valve covers are from the Model Car Garage Edelbrock engine dress up kit (MGC-2250).
Anyway here's a couple of pics of the engine mocked up in the frame - I'll have to figure a way to change the kit supplied fanbelt & pulleys system as it incudes a/c and is too wide.

Looking good
I'm looking forward to following this project.

It looks like this is what Plymouth styled their Prowler after

Re: Tracknose Model A Roadster

Haven't made a great deal of progress on this one as I've been busy with the chopped & chanelled 32, however I've had a change of heart on the engine - I'm going to use this 4 Weber set up with the stock Ford Motorsport valve covers. IMO it looks better than the previous arrangement as it has a bit more height to it and fills out the engine bay better.

Thanks for looking
Andy
