4WD 123HP or 2WD 130HP?
I plan to get a Toyota Matrix, but my parents insist me on getting 4WD, but I prefer costwise 2WD.
Then I found out something, I've talked with my friends and they say that getting 4WD w/ 123HP is useless because no matter how powerful the 4WD wheels are, your horsepower limits on how much your 4WD can do. So basically then, I guess since 4WD = 123HP & 2WD = 130HP... if I do actually get the 4wd, my car would weigh more + heavier = therefore slower, and the 123HP won't do much to 4WD. Is this true? My cousin has a 200+ HP and he has 4WD. He also tells me don't get 4WD unless your car is 180hp or over or else you're just slowing it down. ps: i live near hills and must go uphill a lot, but it doesnt snow as much as here + i'm a beginner driver skills |

I'd get the 2WD drive version. The 4WD version is supposedly very sluggish. Also, the 4WD is the reason for the loss of horsepower.

That depends on the climate you deal with. If you have a lot of snow then I would opt for the 4WD version. If you don't have to deal with a lot of snow then get the 2WD.

XRS model has 180hp it is the fastest, but it only comes in 2WD. That Would be my choice, but then again I would never buy a matrix.
