why would you check the valve cover gasket exactly?

what's the factory redline of the car?
if it's a v6, i know i've had one of those up to about 6400, so there could be something wrong on the car, tuned wrong possibly.

get a tune up and go from there.

Valve cover gasket may be leaking oil to the plugs causing lack of compression and maybe a lack of a 6 cylnder, just a suggestion, but yea my buddies pgt peaked at 6400 rpm when put on the dyno

But flylwls im only 13 right?

according to your profile, yeah, you are.

and yet you said you raced cavaliers and what not, so hey... who am i right?

the valve cover thing isn't the problem.

i had that problem, where the O rings around the spark plug holes were worn out, and got oil onto the top of the plugs, but since the wires are on, it seals the plug and just fills the opening with oil. only bad if you pull the plug, b/c it drains the oil into the cyl.

but it won't funk with your redline.

next...

whoa guys chill, lets try to talk about the real problem at hand here, the problem with the redline, I know on the last Gen cars it was at 7000 RPM but I don't know what year that gen started, also about the redline what may be happening if your engine has turned on the rev limiter at a lower RPM (is that what you are refering to?) you have a few things you may wanna try, the fuel system may be clogged and running the engine too lean so u may want to clean your injectors change your fuel filter and your fuel pump, also look at your spark plugs. Thats all I can think of for now, but try that and check bach with us and tell us the results

HMM.... sounds like you got a serious problem because i own a 93 pgt and it runs right up to the redline on the tach 7000 but it is also a manual transmission. and about the valve cover if you had a bad gasket there would be oil spraying out ... maybe that is to visual... leaking out on your head and you would be able to see it by looking at your engine
the mtx cars redline at 7k and fuel cutoff is at 7200-7500

that is the second gen cars btw but i think you did say 93 pgt so... there you go unless it is an automatic and i haven't owned one so i am not to sure but i'm guessing ford wouldn't cofigure it diferently b/c it has the same engine just diferent shifting method
