D15b2 stock w/ vtec head
Is this possible? Given the DX motor has been upgraded to MPFI...

As long as its a D series Vtec head its possable.... Anything is actualy possable, its whats feesable that counts! You could put a DOHC VTEC head on a ZC if you wanted to.... But it would cost more than a Type R motor...

I remember ami posted some pics of a 4 door sedan some girl named mikiwaza or some shit like that in so cal had, the setup was unreliable, and check engine light was on all the time, but she ran low 15's / high 14's or something like that with the setup, lemme see if I can find the thread.

before i swapped my whole block, i put my d16z6 head on my d15b2 block. it didnt overheat or check engine light didnt come on at all. the problem was VTEC wasn't engaging, but i blame it on the fact that my engine oil pressure wasn't sufficient enough to manuall switch the locking pin which locks the lobes together.... i know vtec wasn't engaging becuase when i swapped my block, vtec is audible slightly, which it wasnt audible/felt at all with the d15b2.
the head bolts directly on, all you have to do is remove a small oiljet thats in the center of the block. (small brass insert) |
