R35??

If the R35 has 400 some Horsepower, with V6 twin turbo, wouldnt it be really heavy then??
Does weight have to do with racing, if you wanna race, cuz of wut i heard, its RARE that weight concerns with racing??

Not necessarily true . . .

A good example is the new Audi S4. In the new 03 model with the 4.2L V8, the motor is actually lighter (I think by 10lbs. if not more) than that of the previous V6 twin turbo. Much depends on how and with what the motor is built with as opposed to the configuration of the motor. That is not to say that the new motor (whatever config. they use) will be lighter than the RB, but who's to say if will not be. I am sure it will be though.

As far as racing goes, weight is indeed important. Why do you think that JGTC and Speed World Challenge add weight to those who place in the top 3 or 4 spots??? Because added weight can kill an efficient race car.

If you are asking does engine weight matter, than perhaps not in the grand scheme of things. If the engine is a bit heavy than a team will cut weight somewhere else on the car. You have to remember many of the cars that we see running are already under the minimum weight limit prior to having things such as fire exstinguising systems and air jacks added to the car. So weight in most cases is not a problem on race cars.

The new GT-R won't be any heavier than the R34 GT-R. If anything, it should be lighter, because the aluminum block VQ engine is lighter than the iron block RB, and the chassis is probably shorter as well.

does weight have to do with racing?

um, yeah, just a bit.

that's why there are weight limits in racing, and everyone wants to get under them.

that's why when you go to the track, everyone is taking all the extras out of the car to drop weight so the power to weight ratio is better...

the less weight you have...

it's bad to consider a motor heavy b/c it has alot of power and two turbos. that rationale makes no sense.

Yeah, not only is the engine shorter, but you can move it back farther in the engine bay. Have you all seen the pics of the R34s with VQs in them? Look at how far back that engine is in the bay. With the VQ against the firewall, it almost looks like you've got another two feet of engine bay space to play with.
With the R35, the platform won't have that extra space. Nissan can afford to shorten the front end now, and that means less chassis material, and even less weight overall.

Thanks Alot RazorGTR

My post was removed because I told the truth about a person. Okay there Mr.Mod. All I'm saying is, (due to ridiculous posts by this person before), that MAYBE he should remove the car listed in his signature since most of us now know he's BSing about the car he doesn't have, and that IS quite clear since this person's born in 1988 as listed in their profile.

Ok, if u're going to remove this post again, fine! Ban me for all I care, for I'd hate to waste my time here typing replies to stupid kids that are all talk, and to waste my time typing replies and have them deleted by ignorant mods.

read this thread and you'll understand.

kid says he has a gsx.

he's 14.

look at his profile.

that's why none of the posts make sense.

onto the lighter v6 motor...

interesting to note that the v6tt skyline in the jgtc doesn't seem to be doing amazingly well...

not bad finishes, but not amazing...

seems like much more of a driver's race series than a car...

This is so simple and I wish people would get the hint. I don't and you shouldn't care what car he says he has. That is imaterial. What is, is when you come in here and flame the guy for no reason. I have not seen any personal attack so I don't want to see it here.

It is that simple. I WILL nuke any post(s) that are nothing but flame posts full stop. There is no reason for it and it is not going to happen here.

As far as wasting time answering then don't answer, although you may actually enlighten someone who does care and who is worthy. Have you ever thought of that?
