High Idle Speed
About 2 months ago, i got a new AAC Valve (at 60000 miles)... my old one kept stalling when i came to a light.
Currently, when my car's in neutral i seem to have an unusually high idle speed. Well, now i have time to deal with it so.. My idle speed in neutral is 1100 RPM's... where i hear the usual idle speed is around 800 RPM. Not to mention, im getting ONLY around low 20 MPG for my fuel economy. Does a high idle speed cause low fuel milage? ***How can i LOWER my idle speed a bit?*** -Phil 94' Silver P10 G20 |

your poor mpg may be due to a bad O2 sensor. have you ever replaced it? how many miles do you have?

It doesn't say anything about lowering idle speed. I check the SE-R forum before i post

did you check out http://www.se-r.net/engine/adjust_idle.html or http://www.se-r.net/car_info/problem...jumping%20idle
either of these might be able to help, assuming you didn't see these when you checked out se-r.net before posting.

Have you checked that the TPS is adjusted correctly?
Also the idle speed may have been adjusted to compensate for a low idle as the AAC valve was dying. On the RH side of the engine at the back(behind the inlet manifold) there is a screw to adjust the idle if you dont know what you are doing dont try to change it.
