Unhappy My Sisters Car was Stolen.

waht the fuck! she barely makes enough money to live where she does, and now some damn ricer morons steal her civic so tehy can use its parts to make their car "mad fast yo"?!!? It's bullshit! and its not like the police care, they spend more energy pulling people over for doing 10 over the limit than they do grand theft auto. Of course, If i stole a car out of a dealership, i KNOW they cops would be all over the place trying to find it.

Man, i wish i knew who it was so i could beat their faces in with a 25mm wrench!! Then steal THEIR money to fix the damage they did to the car!!

argh! fucking hell!!

Joyriders. Happens a lot around here as well.

We had our car stolen out of our driveway back in SA...my dad was standing with his keys in his hand watching it drive off....

Yeah.........New Zealand wasn't much better- I had an attempted break in to my Pug 6O7- but they couldn't beat the deadlocks or the security system- the thieves did take my mates R34 GTR though and I had to drive groggy eyed all the way to Gisbourne to get it back At least he got it back though.

The odd thing was that there was lights and everything on at my place- yet they still broke into it

Reason why I keep the Nova behind a barred gate and 2 dogs.

The dogs dont like strangers... neither do our Guns.

Sorry to hear about the car. Hopefully they'll get it back. My friend's Ford Taurus got stolen a couple of weeks ago. It was found in a field full of beer cans. It had been scraped along the side, but insurance paid for the repairs, and you can't smell the beer or anything. Looks better than it did before it was stolen, but mainly because insurance paid for some of the upholstry to be replaced and new paint. Hope you recover it. If it was mine though, I'd hope for it to be burnt somewhere. I'd rather not have it back after they have run the hell out of it.

Watched an AWESOME show on TLC last night about a police task force (in LA I think) that only works on car thefts. They do everything from going to parts shops and checking that VINs match (it showed one shop that scratched out the real ones and would make fake VIN plates) to staging 'tempting' situations. They would have a female officer drive a car to a parking lot, then a male pull up and start yelling at her and eventually tells her "Get in the car, bitch!!" and she's like, "I am not leaving my car here!!" and eventually gets in his car leaves her car with the keys in it and they take off...

The car they left is rigged so they can remote-control it, as soon as someone gets in and tries to drive it away they hit a switch that locks all the doors so the handles don't work and cuts the gas. Then the suspect is trapped inside the car they stole and they arrest him. Plus lots of the guys they've arrested became informants instead of doing time, so now they tell the police about all the illegal shops and tipped cops about an empty barge leaving port that was going to get filled with cars and shipped overseas...

They also recommended, when buying a used car, take it to the police and have them check that all the VINs match...because if you don't, and later they find out it's a stolen or chop-shopped car, they confiscate it and return it to the owner, and the buyer gets screwed because they have no money and no car. Also they recommend having the VIN etched on all the windows so it makes the car that much more expensive to steal because theives don't want to replace all the windows at a cost of thousands of $$$.

Any case since they've had this task force going they've lowered vehicle theft rates by 60% and currently 2/3 of stolen cars are eventually returned to the owners.

yeah, they just found it the other day. It was joyridden luckily, so only the lock and ignition were screwed up.

I told my sister not to even bother replacing he ignition, just use a screwdriver like the kids who stole her car, to save some money
