Car was STOLEN... seeking any and all available help

Came home from work yesterday 6/30 around 4:30pm, I went to move my car... couldn't find it on the street. It was stolen, I'm guessing last night or the night before since last time I checked it, which was 6/28 it was still there... I live near flushing, in queens NY.

Calling anyone, anyone at all..... in the NY/Queens/Long Island area to help me out...

It's a very upsetting loss... I had the car only a little over 2 years.

If anyone sees a 1997 Blue Automatic Accord with silver racing hart c2 wheels and a greddy exhaust please notify the police or me!... those were the only mods I did to the car that are noticable, of course by now they're probably off the car and sold, but I still have to try. TIA guys.

VIN# 1HGCD5638VA018653
Stock f22b2 motor.

I don't want this to happen again to my other car, I'm going to get cut off switches put in for the fuel system and the engine ECU...

What I need to know is it convenient to take the ECU out in the meantime? Is it considered potentially damaging to the ECU physically if I take it out twice a week? And where is the ECU located in a 99 dsm and how do I take it out to ensure I don't damage it?

TIA people.

its behind the dash its a royal pain to remove. if you get a cutoff put it on the fuel pump not the ecu when you cut power to the ecu you lose all your fuel trim adjustments which make the engine run smooth you also lose the computers memory of all the other stuff it keeps averages of

Just take the spark plug wires off the distributuer cap, it will turn over but wont start. Or take the wires off and put them in the house.

1stGen is right. The fuel pump kill-switch is used by LOTS of folks, and can be wired up in no time.

Re: Car was STOLEN... seeking any and all available help

all i have for an alarm is a remote kill switch with the power locks hooked up to it. no horn hook up cuz that shit annoys the shit out of me [although the VW 'meep' is kinda cool ]. [and besides i have 'got my friend's keys out of his locked car with the horn blaring' more than a couple times, to the point where unless it is right outside your window and you can see it, you ain't gunna come running.] costs like 100 bucks at any major electronics store. i don't keep anything of any value in my car and i carry ins. that covers my stereo, etc. hell i even leave the top down most of the time, unless it is to keep the sun off that damn leather. call me trusting, or mabey i'm numb from having a couple trucks stolen, or just plain dumb. bottom line is that my shit will not start when the alarm is on, even if you pull the power to it. that is well worth my $$.

now mabey if i had one of those pager things, but it had a hidden camera that you could have a pager with a... no, have it hooked up to your phone and get on-demand streaming video of your car, have like 2 or 3 selectable hidden cams... ya... that would be the shit...

Re: Car was STOLEN... seeking any and all available help

oh and sorry about your car getting jacked...

just think of that old DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince track:

"and you are standing in the place your car used to be parked"

"and there is always a cop askin 'you sure you parked it here' "

jeez i think that dated me a bit...

Re: Car was STOLEN... seeking any and all available help

sorry dude!... that sucks. before i bought my baby from my friend. it was almost stolen one time. she parked it on the street and fucker ripped off all the AFC and TT before the cop spooted him. that taught me not to park on the street at night. always becarful WHERE and WHEN you park it. now that i also have a LoJack Early Warning that calls your phone, emails you, messages you , calls your friend, if ever the car is moved without YOUR key in the car.

Re: Car was STOLEN... seeking any and all available help

you can mount the switch under your seat or in you center console somewhere. make sure that wherever you put it it wont get bumped while you're driving maybe even get one of those racing switches with the little cover (its not rice if you cant see it lol)

Yea.. I'm just not sure where the wire that runs to the pump... is.... if I can find that maybe I can put a few switches here and there and hide them good...

Re: Car was STOLEN... seeking any and all available help

I would rather have a switch on the starter, so they don't even crank and run down my battery. I guess if you get insurance money for a broken window/door/interior, you can get a new battery too though.

Yea... what's done is done... sucks to be me. Glad to see everyone else is on top of things when it comes to car security. I really should of taken a lot more precautions because I live where I live.... a lot of scumbags here in NY that will steal something from you that you worked hard for with your own hard earned money. And whats worse is that I'm still a college student.. I don't even have a real job yet.
