how to get the outer door panel off?
my window on the drivers side is getting very hard to roll down. i have taken off the inner door panel before but not the outer. i hear the outer is supposed to let you see the whole window and gear. is it easier to take that off or the inner door panel.
if the outer how do you get it off |

I have a `93 SL2. My window was sticking, and I had to take off the outer door panel to look at the mechanisms.
On mine, I opened the door and there are some star bolts holding it in. You will need a bit for this, the head is shaped like a star, the designation is TX40. I'm pretty sure that's the size, but I am not completely sure. It uses bolts that are very similar to the bolts that hold down the valve covers. E-mail me if I am not making myself clear and you want a picture of the bit that you will need. But, if the problem is that the window is getting hard to roll down, I don't think you need to take the entire door panel off. I think there is a way to shoot lubricant inside the door by shooting it in between the door panel and window. Kinda like how when people want to jimmy a lock, they just stick their little hooks inside the door. Hope this helped, Michael |

thanks i know about the tourqes bolts. i wasnt entirely sure if they were bolts or just a type of clip. thanks. when you took yours off was there any type insulation in the door or two way tape?
thanks for the idea of just shooting the grease in that will work for the winter until i can get some real lube in there |

Nope, there wasn't any kind of seal or weather stripping, it split open pretty easily. Best of luck.
