Question nitrous good/bad?

my question is this: how dangerous/detrimental would it be for an engine which is 10 years old and has 125k on it to be used with a Zex nitrous kit? I ask only because i've been told nitrous is the only worthwhile thing to do for a 3rd gen, and i wanna make sure i'll be able to drive the damn car for a few more years. for anyone with a proffesional opinion or firsthand knowledge, responses are much appreciated. and anyone else is welcome to throw in their two cents.

Nitrous in and of itself is not dangerous. It depends on the use really. If you plan on using it a lot or often, it could pose a danger to your engine as it is dealing with extreme pressures, forces, etc. Remember that you are creating an additional horsepower that works those internals a lot.

If your car is very well maintained and I mean very, you should not have a problem. I've seen people with cars that have high mileage running NOS in it. You'll get differing opinions on this so just read over what everyone says and then get the facts on it.

If you plan on running NOS, first do a compression test on your engine to determine it's health, if all checks good, go for it. If you have an auto, I would recommend getting a tranny cooler and VB mod also.
Take the time to read these:

IMHO, I would use the NOS kit, it's been used by many Max owners, but there are some that swear by the ZEX kit too, it's all up to you. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Good luck.
