Talking I moved the Filter, HOLY SH*T!!!

Okay, so it was raining really hard on Friday, and i had to make a trip to the city, where ther is a lot of puddles, so i took out the CAI, and put the filter right at the Throttle Body like Greg (88CivicDX) has it and Holy shit, this thing is so fukin loud and my car vibrated from the filter at like 3000 RPM, and i feel a lil increase in power, but that just might be in my head! I just thought i would share!

yeah, there's no way it could be doing more for you sucking in all that hot air compared to the cai. That's cool though, it's always fun to do things like that sometimes and have it sound really loud.

i actually have my filter directly on the throttle bottle no pipe what so ever. i've always had it like that since my swap. my car is loud but it was loud before the swap, so i dont know if it acutally made it louder but my 2 3/4 piping all the way to the converter doesnt help either in noise reduction.

lol - you think that's bad... my '76 Civic 1200 bored and stroked out to 1400cc (EN1 crank and rods, goldwing 73mm pistons) had twin Dell Orto carbs with ram pod filters on all 4 barrels almost touching the firewall - damn that bastard was noisy.

Like you say I doubt you would be making more power with the filter in that position…… “Every 3.3 degrees Celcius increase in air temperature is a 1% drop in power”, the temp there has got to be more than where your cone normally sits.

I was thinking about this the other day and i was thinking if i put a cervini's hood with a functional ram air hood scoops, i can make something that goes directly to the filter.... that could work, right?

Here is mine, Do not be too harsh. You can see the filter from the inlet of the scoop. I don't get the really nice Honda booming sound unless I take the whole filter and pipe assembly off.

I hope this works
