Angry Dual mass flywheel, cause engine to not properly run?

There was a small metal part found in the flywheel casing. the pin apears to be missing. a new flywheel has ben recomended and I was hoping if someone could direct me to a location for purchase. this is my first BMW and I have only owned it for 6 months. So I'm a n00b when it comes to the comunity. If you also are experiancing a internitent poor start or poor engine performance please drop me a line and Ill keep you informed about how this when and what I learned.

Hey, welcome to AF! I like your username. :hehe:

Tell us a bit more about your car. Year, model, new/used, mileage...

Was it looked at by the dealership or an independent mechanic?

OK

I've have my hands on a 1987 325e. 150,000 miles, last owner was from western MA and did not take the best care of the car. But he had good documentation of what had been done. Bought for $2100.00. and knew what I was getting into.

The auto is being worked on buy me for thesmall stuff and buy a Machanice Ive had for 5 years now. Great guy. Great machanic. had 2 VW's before and good recomendations from other BMW owners. Trouble is that there is no BMW dealer on the Isalnd of Marthas Vineyard. Taking the car off is usually a two day trip. With considerable expence. My machanic is also a research hound and loves his job. So i'm confident. The trouble is that with such a great machanic comes great cost. So looking for suplimental input from the honorable world of BMW owners. Looking to do this car right.

When you say the car doesn't run properly what exactly do you mean??? It misses? Loses power on acceleration????
