This weekends news

Well, me, dmc12 and another guy decided to go for a drive, we end up going through this crazy canyon road *thanks DMC...asshole *, well, I learned that yes, my car can do it, yes, when i'm bigger than the lanes on a canyon road I do get scared, and yes, my brakes work...Well, after we made it down I had to pull off, loss of braking power, so I smell it, get out, and theres smoke comming from them. Nope, dosent end bad though, after it cools off, we cruse and head back.

Night rolls around, some of my crew is chillin with me at In and Out, The RS camaro, a LS1, DMC12, my girl and myself. A riced 02 eclipse GT and Riced escort roll up and the RS and LS1 both start laughing, and explain that these guys think they are hot shit, and have sponsors, but are idiots. The Rs sets it up, telling them to race me, you know, with my v6 and all. They were rippin on my car, asking if it was a sunbird, ,and saying theres no difference. We head out, I keep it in overdrive and dont hit it once, I keep it so slow its sad. We get out there, line up and the flagger stages us up. I bring my rpm to 2000, I hear his engine revin up, flaggers arms go down we both rip off, both getting traction, no chirping whatsoever. I'm already pulling, his fart cans screaming, I shift at 4,600 rpm and keep pulling, hes in my sideview. All through the gears I pull, up to 90 when I had 5 lengths on him. We head back, the LS1 and RS were smoking the tires for the hell of it so we decided to take off, the Eclipse had a good 5 car lentghs ahead of me when he floored it looking cool, so I decided to try to catch up, I floor it and buzz afterhim. I catch up, and by 90 I had 4 lengths on him, I felt damn cool.

Later I kept trying to get into another race, cops were comming so I kept asking people if they were up for a run, finally I see a 70 camaro, kinda beat but with the beautiful sound of cam overlap and flowmasters. I ask him if hes runnin tonight
"I'm lookin, what you got"

It was on, when we stage it up, this time we both chirped, and we both caught traction about the same time. We were both screaming down the road, his engine roaring, I thought for sure he had me, but I held on him the whole way untill 70 when I started pulling hard on him, by 90 I had 3 lengths on him. I see a car comming the other way...a cop. We both floor it and scream onto the freeway and meet up later.

They guys with the eclipse said they lost because
1 his car is wwaaaaaayyy heaver at 4300 pounds stock
2. he only has exaust and intake on his v6 eclipse
3 he didnt launch right because his tires didnt spin

The guy in the camaro was excited as hell and we checked out his engine and talked about stuff he could do to it. He was happy for a good race. He had a 307 with edelbroc intake, some random carb, and a massssssiiiivvveee cam, with 3.73 gears. From how he ran, I'm thinking he lost because the cam he has is made for power way up high, to where he dosent even reach. But I tell you what, that cam overlap made me shiver, nothin like it.

All in all, a bad ass weekend :bandit:

... an eclipse waying 4300lbs?

Eclipse GT weighs 3053 lbs.
Eclipse GT Spyder weighs 3241 lbs.

i hope 4300lbsw is a typo, cause... i'd like to know where the extra 1200lbs came from.

Ill talk to you later about the weekend... i got somethings to say.

I think the kid's ego weighed about 1,000 pounds.

It was fun to watch, even if the police broke it up prematurely. I was going to race an LS1 (just for the hell of it), but didn't get the chance.

He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about, the fact that all imports are mad light is common knowledge

I've been coming to realize that when ricers say exhaust and intake, what they mean are a muffler and a knn air filter on a chunk of exhaust tube...

I didn't realize your brakes would start smoking... sorry about that dude The DMC rules road courses, the T-Bird rules straight line tracks:bandit:

Yes, it reminded me of that last race in the Fast & Furious because it was 100% muscle vs technology (to an extent). I thought he was going to whoop your car, but no way... :smoker2: the Bird wins again.

Have some friends who live in ventura( spelling?) How close is that? Probably closer then here

Saw a black thunderbird a while back. It was ahead of me, I then noticed California plates. I was like hey maybe its T.V. So, I floor it up next to it and it was some girl. I was like oh, maybe there is more then one thunderbird with california plates.

well what the hell, I'll talk about my weekend adventure. I was on the way to pick up my friend Matt (yes another Matt besides redneck and TV, who are both matts), when I see two round headlights on my ass that could only belong to a mid to late 80's porsche 911. I start getting excited so I push it through a few S turns. I got ahead of him by 10 lengths or so, so he musn't have been pushing it hard at all. But sure enough when we got to a mile-long straightaway, he goes blowing by me at full throttle. I stand on it, but it is too late, as I am way too far behind to make up any ground. I am about 10 or 15 lengths behind when the straightaway ends with a sharp 90 degree turn. He brakes way early, and by the time we get to the corner, I am right on his ass. Then we drag up a short straightaway where he is able to get a length or so on me, and we dive into another tight 90-degree-er and I close up on him, and then mash the gas coming out. I was able to hold right on his ass down the next straightaway which is about 1/4 mile or so before we get up to about 90 mph and have to hit the binders again. I ride his ass under the brakes once again, and then out of the corner we get to the stoplight. I would have hoped we would be going in the same direction but he made a right turn, and I had to go straight. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted .

Well my friend Matt and I are chillin outside the movies when a couple of girls he knows say that they need a ride home. One was decently good looking and the other one was a fox, so I agree. I drive down a road that I thought I knew pretty well, so I decide to push it. I was going about 60 (it was a 25 zone) when from the back seat I hear "DIP!" Being the idiot that I am, I say "huh!??" and then WHAM!!! I went over a massive dip in the road going about 60. I got airborne and then double-hopped as I hit the ground. I get to the girl's house and drop them off and apologize. Luckily, nothing is broken on the underside of my car, so me and Matt go back to the movies to watch "Die Another Day". All in all, lotsa fun!

HAHAHAHA, Ventura is where we go *the county, not sayin the spots we race obviously * Come visit your friend out here, bring your cobra. Well hunt some rice and F-bodys....you take the F-bodys

Jeez SR00, I know how that feels, I took a turn at 70 in the geo and hit a dip, fliped 3 wheels into the air with one on the ground, and somehow saved it (devine intervention?) I didnt think it was that bad ass, but the people I was ditching talked to us later and told us that sparks were shootin from the car and I got all but one wheel off, I later looked at the skid marks and man....I should be dead

You got it TV! I would love to come out and see the land. The actual town they live in I think is called Ventura. I will start saving money to pay for gas, I should have enough to come down in about a year.
