'83 280zxt vs '03 Mustang V6

Hey all,

I finally got a chance to race my friend in his new '03 V6 Mustang (auto ) I was pulling out of my work and heard a honk... I look in the rearview mirror and see my friend pull up next to me. I told him to follow, and we went and found a decent section of road that was pretty straight, with a curve at the end... I told him on three honks we would race to the intersection a couple hundred feet ahead. (not a real intersection, just a spot with a left turn lane and a side road connecting to the road we were on.)

Anyways, I hold the revs somewhere around 2-3k, and honk three times, drop the clutch on the third honk and hear a lot of tire squeal (his car and mine)

My tires caught and I pulled half a car on him in first, shift to second and he slips a bit further back, shift to third and he starts pulling on me a tiny bit, shift to fourth and he slips back more.

After I hit fourth, we had passed the little intersection, and were at the curve in the road. After we had passed through the curve, I got on the brakes and stopped.

He rolls up and says "you smoked me" with a huge grin on his face... it was fun. I ask if he wants to go again and he says no.

I said ok, and flipped a bitch (lighting up my tires on the U-Turn ) He follows and does a little flyby as im just cruisin now.

He stops at a red light, and I pull up next to him, we decided to go again and I rev to 1800... light goes green, I drop the clutch, tires chirp, then catch, engine bogs, he takes off, I made up a little of the distance when the turbo kicked in, but decided that I had already lost and gave up...

Now he tells me today he wants to race again, I say "For slips?" He says "No Way", so I told him I would go for $50... he agreed, but I don't know if I wanna

Sorry for the novel, but I haven't had a real race in such a long time

yah, ,good story

I say, go for the 50, but practice first and buy yourself a new clutch with it! That way you can race without worry of detonating it.

I drove a friends 00 mustang v6, and was not impressed. It was slower then my brothers 95 v6 with a couple mods. Dont bet the $50, make it a $100.

Hmm, 100 is a lot of money for me at the moment since I'm trying to move out... I'll see if he wants to go for it tho

Another friend at work wanted to race me in his friends '91 240sx w/exhaust for slips... I took him and his friend for a ride in my car and they changed their minds

Too bad eh?

My brothers 5-speed v6 mustang chirps them in second. I can vouch for that, since the car use to be mine.
