93 corolla check engine, and aribag light
A girl I work with has a '93 Corolla and the check engine light comes on every once in awhile, but doesn't stay on. Her airbag light is on all the time. What could be causing these dummy lights? I'm guessing her O2 sensor could be the reason for the check engine light, but I would think it would stay on. Have no idea about the airbag light though. Thanks.
-Rob P.S. I'm not sure what engine she has, but her VIN starts with 1NXAE04E8PZ if that helps. Thanks.

Re: 93 corolla check engine, and aribag light
There was a recall notice sent out for 93 Corolla's to install a protection plate that sits over the airbag control unit, located in the center console.
Has she spilled any liquids in that general area? If so, that may be the problem. Even if she hasn't received one of those recall notices, she can still go into any Toyota Dealership and request the part to be installed. It's free of charge. |
