OT: Anyone have any idea how much Honda Tech's make?
Ok... I have a friend that's a sales person at a dealership not to far from here that I bought my 98 Civic at.
Yesterday he told my mom that the dealership is about to be opening up a new Larger lot, and he said they'd be needing at least 3 shop people, and he said he could probably get me the job if I wanted it... but he didn't mention to her how much it paid. I have to decide if it would be even worth it to work there though, cause the dealership would be about an hours drive from where I live now... But then all the benifits to be considered too, such as a fully stocked Honda shop, a parts shop at my disposal, and certified help with my own car ![]() Anyways... any of you guys have any idea how much they make? Cause I make about $9per hour now (still in college), and any less then that, I wouldn't be able to afford the commute.

$30 bucks sounds about right, if not cheap, but i think that is comission. Wish I had a better memory cause they said something about what the dealerships pay and its good money.

When I was working at the local Honda dealership, the highest paid tech we had was getting about $18-$20. What's screwed up is they are starting the lube tech's (porters) at $12/hr now. Go figure.

the honda techs at my work make $28 an hour & are on book time, that means if they do a job that pays 4hrs & completes in 2hrs, they still get paid for the 4hrs. A few guys at my work are booking 100hrs a week or more. keep in mine we are one of the busiest shop w/ 2 shifts of tech 6:30am-3:30pm & 3:30-midnight with parts open the entire time also. the shopforeman makes about $120,000 a salary with bonuses but he also has to dispatch the work load coming in each to all the tech fairly & thats about 75 per shift coming in which sux. those guys love working on those cars ver simple. be a tech for a few years then be a srvc advisor which are making $75,000K a year
