Making Of - Alpine A110 1600SC (*Progress Pics*)

Well, since there was no good suggestion for my second car to build my wife decided for me and offered me this love Alpine A110 1600SC that will be along with the Ferrari F310B my current projects.

I have also bought this decals sheet since I plan to build the car that raced in the 1971 (my birth year) Portugal Rally. I just have to find the rims to get a perfect replica. Progress pictures soon.

Ah, one of the all time greatest rally cars...Of all time...ever!

I shall find this build interesting too, especially with the alternative decals.

BTW, is this kit currently out of production?

I think so Chris. This one was in my wish list for quite some time and I have tried to order it in several shops in U.K. and Japan with no success.
We have found it just by luck in a small model store and it was the single one.

That's what I always say. Never be desperate, you'll find your most wanted some day, at a place where you never expected it to find. Remember the 450 SLC Rally that I found recently.

Anyway, we're in again for a very interesting buidling report. As a kid I used to live near a local Alpine dealer, so I remember the A110's very vively!!

The Alpine kit is available from several Internet retailers on shopping.yahoo.com (do a search for Tamiya Alpine)

Gainsbourg,
Looks like you have a nice build underway there, look forward to seeing the result.
I have seen the Alpine Rally for sale on E-Bay numerous times but for some reason it has never been a car that has appealed to me.
Daggerlee,
Raybrig Blue is now a standard production color from Tamiya, if I recall correctly the TS number is TS-57.
Hope that helps if you were looking for some.

Ray

Finally I have the chance to post the first progress pictures of the A110.
Sincerely I’m having (when I have time) such a joy in building the Ferrari F310 that I can’t give the deserve attention to the Alpine.
Anyway here they are:

The chassis and the engine are completed with no problem.
All pieces fix well and this process is easy to do. The interior will also be a easy and quick part of this project. Main work is to be done in the body and I hope to post soon some of it progress.

I managed to score a kit off ebay recently. It's a lovely car, but I would only probably start work in Jan or Feb.

Gainsbourg are you using TS-19 to paint the body?
