Completed: Alpine A110 1600SC

This is my recently completed Tamiya 1/24 Alpine A110 1600SC. The paint is Gunze metallic blue, rims and bumpers are white and interiors are tan with white linings. Chrome lining is using Bare Metal Foils.

Comments and criticisms are welcome.

Cool build! I really like this car. I have the rally version in my stash (and plan on getting the street version to do a road & track set, but I digress ).

The color looks like a good match, is the paint the Gunze acrylic or lacquer?

Thanks for the comments.

As for the colour, it is the Gunze acrylic. Metallic blue on white primer.

Overall it is a very easy build being a Tamiya, not much problem exccept for the metal transfers. It does not stick well to the surface.

Beautiful model, well done. I have the rally version and I am curiouse about the Alpine lettering(metal transfers), did they have to be placed one at atime and aligned by eyball if you know what I mean.

Thanks 935k. As for the metal transfers, they do allign it on the sheet itself but upon application the letters will most likely needs to be alligned by sight and this really sucks... adding to that, the adheshive is not that strong. Other than that, it is a really easy and problem-free build.

Good work! Nice color choice and a nice gloss on the finish.

Re: Completed: Alpine A110 1600SC

it's good to see one of these on AF. It's one of my favourite cars and kits with an engine bay that's crying out for detailing. I picked up one of these in HK for cheap before they re-issued it and could never bring myself to build it.
guess there's no excuse now.
I only hope I get the paint as good as you have.

Re: Completed: Alpine A110 1600SC

Thanks for all the compliments...

Cobra Colours: Thanks for the compliments... I would like to have the car in one of your beautiful colours but can't get any. Hope one day you will be able to ship to Asia... Malaysia most likely.

MidMazar: Thanks...

Drunken Monkey: I do get this for cheap at my LHS. There is so much room for details but I don't have the time to do it. It is actually done for a competition. I only manage to put minimal cabling on the engine. Now get cracking on your Alpine... hehehe

This is one cool looking car, never have seen one before. Very nice work on the paint and the foil. Very nice clean build.
