Tamiya 1/24 Alpine A110 1600SC Monte Carlo 71 (* Final Pics *)

Here is my new finished project.
The base model is the Tamiya 1/24 Alpine A110 converted to the car used by Ove Andersson and David Stone to win the 1971 Monte Carlo Rally. The decals used are the Carpena, ref. 24.20.
Hope you like it since this is one of my all time favourite cars.

<jumps up and down like a schoolgirl>

Woot!!!!

I don't wanna sound like a suck up but it's also one of my favorite car ever! I have that kit, it's still unbuilt and I am thorn because I'd like to make a rally car and regular one .

I hope tamiya re-issue this one, I think i'll get 4.

Anyway that's another great flawless piece you've made there. I would've expected no less from you.

Cheers

Re: Tamiya 1/24 Alpine A110 1600SC Monte Carlo 71 (* Final Pics *)

ah yes...the memories. Back oh so many years ago (20 or so) I built that car in 1:24th I think it was my last model until the 99T I just finished. I was looking for one of those when I decided to get back into car modeling. Great job.

Looks great Nuno, but we expect that from you
What colour did you use for the blue, Tamiya Alpine/Light Metallic Blue? Whatever, it looks spot on.

Faultless build! What else can I say. And the car itself brings back good memories. Well done!

Very nice model Nuno!
Are Tamiya re-releasing this kit because there are a few detail kits coming out for it?

No. the rims were different. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to find the set with the rims.
When (if) I find the rally rims later I will switch them.

It was painted with the recommended Alpine Blue. As far as I remember it was not an easy paint to find even at the time.

I really hope so. I’d love to build a civil version in another colour.

Great model of a classic rallycar I'm planning to build this same car with the Reji decals and resin parts, but it'll probably take atleast a year or two to get the project started... The Reji set includes a set of rally wheels, stone guard for the bottom, new exhaust and some small parts. I got my set from Mediamix hobby last fall.
