When are you planning on buying? The whole Nissan lineup will look quite different next year...

...and welcome to AF!

Both Nissan upgrade to a 3.5L engine.
2002 Maxima 3.5L V6 255 hp
2002 Altima base engine 180hp or the optional engine 3.5L V6 240hp.
In my own opinion I think that the V6 Altima is pretty fast.

I like my Maxima, don't have many complaints. It rides nice and handles nice. There is a good amount of power and it is a big upgrade from my last car. There is a good amount of room on the inside but not quite enough for me (I'm a big guy). My shoulders sometimes feel squished. The 02s are even nicer. I think they are reasonablly priced, especially compared to other cars in its class. I really like the new Altimas too.

I would probably go for the 222hp ones. I would also check out the new Altimas with the V6 and stick. Either way, they are a good alternative to other, much more boring cars, and they are alot cheaper than a BMW.

Although, if you got 98, you might be able to buy a turbo or blower for the savings, which would be very good.
