Thrasher Shift Kit

WHATS UP,

I PURCHASED THE THRASHER SHIFT KIT FROM WWW.PFYC.COM
I INSTALLED THE STAGE 2 KIT CAUSE THE INSTRUCTIONS STATED THE STAGE 3 IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR EVERY DAY DRIVERS.
WELL THE STAGE 2 SEEMED TO DO LITTLE TO NOTHING, SO I WROTE
PFYC AND THEY TOLD ME TO INSTALL THE STAGE 3 AND SEE IF THAT
WORKS. THE STAGE 3 DOES NOT SEEM TO DO A WHOLE LOT.
THE TRANS ENGAGES FASTER BUT DOES NOT JERK AT ALL. I'VE TAKEN
IT APART 3 TIMES NOW AND I'M SICK OF THE MESS!
ARE THERE ANY COMMON PROBLEMS WITH THESE SHIFT KITS OR WHAT WRONG.
I DO HAVE THE 4T65E TRANS

I HAVE A 1999 GRAND PRIX GT
-39,000 MILES

THANKS RYAN

not sure about that mod. sounds like a good way to mess the transmision up bad. I wouldn't go with this mod unless you thought of drag racing

Cool thrasher shift kit

i just installed a thrasher shift kit on my 98 grand prix about a week ago and i love it. it is on stage 3 and my car doesn't lurch forward at each shift like you might imagine from the description but i can tell a difference. i'm not sure how you did the installation but i know when i put mine in i almost over looked that booth of the springs that they give you are supposed to be placed under the pistons, the smaller one inside of the larger one. i haven't had any problems with it what so ever.

i have a 98 grand prix gt (a former police car) with the thrasher shift kit, and throttle enhancer.

The shift kit is supposed to be good for the tranny. It makes the shift quicker, thus there is less slipping of clutch plates between shifts. I'm not sure about what you mean by the tranny not "jerking" at the shifts, but if you feel that the shifts happen quicker than I would say that the kit is doing its job.

I've had the Thrasher for atleast a year and havent had any problems with it. I have shredded a differential and cloged the valve bodies, talk about a tranny jerking.

I would say leave it on stage 3 and then add some more mods and you'll start creating enough torque that you feel the tranny "jerk".
