Cold air intake. For every 10° cooler equals about 1% gain or around 1-2hp on mild moded honda's.

the best intake is the stock honda ones, all the other just make you sounds faster, very few hondas that actually have intakes are fast.

this is true although it does give you a small increase in power its hardly anything noticeable.

300 dollars? 20 HP gain? can't wait til i get my $1,000 catback exhaust with the 150 HP gain.... dyno tested... :right: right...

For the sole purpose of engine dressup, do they sell aluminum or chrome intake piping that will hookup from the throttle body to the stock airbox?

no, but I do believe there AEM now has polished intake systems. You want to dress it up, drop a turbo kit in there

I'd rather supercharge it... Something about a blown h23 just appeals to me... OH YEA... the power!!!

Which forced induction application creates more torque? SC, or Turbo? If I had to guess it'd be the supercharger.

I'm sure turbo, and with a broader powerband, there isn't a huge SC following for hundas, otherwise they might be up tehre with turbos

go with a turbo, a smaller one will also produce less lag. the SC draws to much power away from the motor.

the turbo will generate higher peak power. the supercharger will give you more usable power for everyday driving. it just depends on what you plan for it. daily driver, i'd go for the jrsc. otherwise go with a turbo. the power's right there when you step on the gas with the supercharger, you don't have to wait for it to spool like with the turbo. on the other hand, the flexibility with the turbo and power potential is very appealing if you're gonna be racing the car.

i'm not gonna recommend one over the other until you say what your intentions are. there's pluses and minuses of both systems depending on what you want.

I've driven plenty of turbo cars, and the lag is really nothing even to consider. I mean it's not like it takes 30 seconds to get boost, a properly sized ball-bearing turbo will have almost no lag in useable rpm's anyways. I put a jrsc on a 2000 SI, it was fun and all, but you really only notice a difference in the low rpms, which in a honda you rarely are in anyways due to their gearing and such. I believe there is a much bigger aftermarket, many more choices, and much more flexibility with turbo setups, but the choice is always up to the end user

a jrsc'd lude is far from a jrsc'd civic. trust me. i'm not all about defending the supercharger route but go try a jrsc prelude 5 speed, and you'd be quite surprised like most people. breaking 13's in preludes is easily obtainable with the jrsc at the stock 6psi. the m62 blower jr uses for the prelude is so much more potent than the m45. you can't really compare the jrsc on a civic with one a prelude. they're two different worlds. don't get me wrong, the tunability of a turbo is far superior to that of a jrsc and the potential for more power is greater, but don't downplay the capability of a jrsc prelude, not civic, until you've tried it.
