Depends on how big of a shot of NITROUS you are running, and your compression ratio. And with nitrous, pistons tend to melt with all the extra heat created, not crack. But it is possible.

Nos is a brand....are you talking about nitrous....

Usually on an LS1 you can actually bump it up to 150 shot if you have an aftermarket fuel pump....I usually shoot 100 shot at the tree but its best to get a window switch so it will not kill your tranny....this is an internally stock LS1...just bolt ons...

if its a smaller cid....then a smaller shot would be suggested...50-75 shot...

If your fuel system is up to par you can run up to a 200 - 250 shot on stock internals. Stock pistons are actually HARDER than aftermarket performance pistons. That's their downfall actually. They're so hard that they are also BRITTLE. Which means if there is ANY detonation at all you will have PROBLEMS. But as long as you have absolutely NO detonation once so ever you'll be good to go! This is why there are people running 250 shots of nitrous on stock internals. All you really have to worry about is your rods. BUT for what you'll pay for a fuel/management system capable of doing the above safely, you could buy a supercharger/heads/cam/forged internals. The only reason I know of people doing this is to say they run a 250 shot of nitrous on stock internals, for bragging rights. But anyways, just wanted to point out it IS possible...

Also, a 125 - 150 shot is perfectly safe to run on a stock motor. Especially an lt1 or ls1. As long as you do it right you won't have any problems at all.

You are tremendously mistaken and sound like an IDIOT. Grow up and get some knowledge.

Hmm...Maybe you should install nitrious if you plan to run the quarter then??? Or any straight line race...

I know of guys that spray on the long straightaways on road tracks. So it's not just for 1/4 mile racing.
