A good idea my friend had...

Hey all,

I was cruising around with my friend in his GSR the other day, and a cop pulled up behind us, we were speeding a bit, so he lightly pulled up the e-brake to slow us down w/o lighting up the brake lights...

He got the idea of wiring in a switch which would disable the rear brake lights temporarily so you could fully use your brakes w/o attracting attention with your brake lights...

Good idea or not? I figure just a simple radioshack switch with a wire spliced into the wires leading to the brake lamps... think it would work?

I always wanted to do it the oter way around, and wire it so they would come on, maybe panic a tailgater or two, would be funny to watch them in the rear view slamming on their brakes

lol

i hate it when stupid ass suv's start tailgating. when they do, i just slow down and flip the mirror so it doesn't blind me. i once went 5 miles in a 45 zone. when they try to pass i make sure they can't

it's a very good idea. i'm sure it would work. just be sure to turn the switch back on after using it or there would be a very nasty accident.

i hit the breaks all the time rite when i see a cop most the time i am going way over the limit if he clocks you going 75 in a 55 you done for.
an ok idea. but you gotta be quick with the reflexes let not forget theres a cop rite there and your speeding by. dont know i think it would be a hassle. when e brake of just hitting your breaks before you get to close works just fine

I think he was just talking about using it on the cops which fly up behind you and pace you... the ones w/o radar... it would work for them

Not bad an idea... i wanna get a kill switch that'll cut all lights in the back of my car, headlights only Easy way to lose a cop at night, cant see you break and turn onto sidestreets.

it could work... just you have to remember to use it when a situation like that occurs.

Myself, i'd go through all the trouble hard wiring in a kill switch...then forget that i have it and get nailed regardless...

officer - "you know how fast you were traveling?"

me - "yes i was going 65 in a 45...say, can we do that last part again.. i forgot to activate my kill switch so you couldnt see me slow down..."

officer - ".... step out of the car please."

Yea, in all honesty sure it would be good for those cops w\o the radar guns but if they don't have radar guns then they can't give you a ticket for speeding because they cant prove it. My friend got pulled for doing an "estimated" 85 in a 60 and he pays good money every month for a lawyer to be on hand so he just whips out the cell, calls his lawyer, asks if its legal. the lawyer talks to the cop and the cop has to let him go. No point having it for those cops.

The cops that are sitting by the side if the road, you really don't have the time to flip some switch then brake. It's better if you just slam the brakes because it all depends on if he clocks you or not. If you can get down to the speed limit or close to before he can clock you then he can't get you. I saw a cop when I was going 35 over the speed limit. I slammed on my brakes to almost a full stop and he flips the lights on and pulls me over. walks up and the first thing he says is:

Cop - "you wanna come sit in my car for a minute?"

Me - "No thanks, I'm pretty comfortable where I am"

Cop - "Boy, I didn't clock you in time so I can't really give you a ticket but had I been able to I just wanted to let you know that I probably could have gotten yer license revoked and maybe even gotten you a good few days in jail. Why don't you keep that in mind next time your speeding."

Me - "yes sir. I sure will..."

The brake light thing is a good theory but I don't think it's all that necessary. Just brake and screw the lights they don't matter that much. Cops have people slamming their brakes wherever they go.

A good idae, however, is to add a switch for your license plate lights. I put one of those in and thank God reguarly that I did because it's saved my ass so many times. The cops will come busting out of nowhere and you just flip those lights off and if you can lose them then they can't tag your plates or can't look for them when you park off to the side of the road. It also comes in handy when you piss someone off or something then they cant get yer plate number. I got my plates tagged by the cops and it's been hell ever since. I can't do anything around a cop. Furthermore, I'll get followed so often. But all I hafta do is make 2 rights and they can't follow me cuz of that harassment law.

So clocking you is the only way the ticket can hold up in court? I got a ticket the other day, and the guy paced me... I was going the speed he said I was going, but maybe I can get out of it...

like i was saying.. but just because a cop is behind you driving does not mean he cant laser you.regardless.. ive been pulled over by a cop driving in the opposite direction he k... wait listen to this..

im driving down a small highway road kind of a country road. now i know cops will try to ticket you by decieving you.or try to say your doing something illeagle but your realy not. so this is when i just got my car. the speed was alot more then my old car. so it kinda got away from me sometimes. i didnt notice it was going fast without the loud engine noise... so a cop is coming the opposite direction i didnt notice untill he passed me..

cops arent super human rite?

cop do you know how fast you were going
me no sir i wasnt paying attention
(my mistake letting him know i didnt know)
cop 73 in a 45
me damn
cop sit tight

he comes back and has a sitation for me saying sitation before you get one rather then saying ticket is better trust me ive gotten off that way. i was going 75 in a 45 ... i was like look man if i get a sitation i will lose my job .. he said slow down this is a warning. i had been drinking all night. i was going through a tough time then....

so he gives me my sitation and i notice he didnt put the speeds in the spaces. he simply put general speeding law.
wtf?
his way of letting me off easy. fuck that i bet if i had a lawyer heda said officer you didnt clock him driving on the oppisite side of the road.
but realy im kinda confused because it is possible

in my oppinion that would be possible if they had an input speed wich subtracted there exact speed from what the radar said. so say im going

60 and he was going 50 the radar would say 110 he subtracts his speed from that and gets 60 now he knows how fast im going.

im sure our government spent there dollars well enough to equip pigs with such devices that automaticly takes there speed from the radar speed at the exact moment they shoot there little gun.
hmmmmm

now if there behind you im not sure about that explenation but im sure there is one. cop with no radar would not pull you over unless you were going obsenley fast. because there not out traffic stopping..

make since or was it too two sided?

i tried

Yea, they technically cant ticket you unless they physically clock you going the speed they say. If youg et a lawyer, you can get off real easy. You're right about the subtract thing, but that won't hold up as evidence because who knows how fast they were going. They can do the same thing with you when they're behind you but once again, who knows how fast their going.

They will try to deceive you into the ticket if they think they can get away with it and most of the time they can. Make sure that they actually have you clocked and if they do suck up.
