Is there a way to clean the tires and an easier way to apply those tire decals or techniques such as to get them to stick and aligned properly "potenza, bridgestone" ones on the Tamiya race cars. They are awful as they usually dont stick, tear, or come out distorted.
I'm dissapointed since i buggered them all up on the Supra, I don't it to happen on the calsonic.

I know how you feel! I bought the Calsonic R34 and i only managed to get one whole tire done in decals, then others folded over themselves( because tamiya put them on the backing paper backwards, what a stupid thing to do) and because they have so much glue on them they stick together, well if you get only 3 wheels done i can send you mine! i am going to strip and respray mine as a street racer wide body kit! with no spoiler and better wheels 2-4 big exhaust and paint it.......metallic black?Well good luck!

Those tire decals arn't like normal decals, you take off the piece of paper, then it looks like there is one piece of paper there with decals on it, there is two pieces of paper, on very thin with decals on it, you take the thin piece of paper off, place it where it should go on the tire, top side up, then press it down hard and it should stick, get some water on your finger and dab it over the tire decal, use a damp cloth and make sure that the hole piece of paper (and decal is wet) then the piece of paper should just easily slide off, leaving the decal there. Dab the decal with a damp cloth to make sure it is down properly and *walla*, a nice tire decal. It clearly says this on the instructions.
I have had no problems using this method, maybe you might be doing it wrong

Start by cleaning tires then apply a coat of water based Acrylic satin on sidewalls only then apply decals , then apply 1 or 2 coats of acrylic flat to seal them in, this thouroughly hides decal film. |
