wide whitewall tires/tire decals

hey all, been a while since i was on here last. just started getting back into models again and i'm looking for either wide whitewall tire decals or wide whitewall tire sets for an upcoming project of mine. tried to search but none of the results gave me the info i was looking for. i know there are thin whitewall decals but i'm looking for wide gangster whitewall style. any help would be appreciated.

I'd just paint them.

Forget painting them- it'll make you crazy.

If you can't find another option, you could try making the decals yourself. Decal film for printing your own decals is getting pretty easy to find- just get yourself a sheet of white decal film (not the clear stuff). Measure the dimensions you need for your tires (I highly recommend a set of dial/digital calipers for this- it's the easiest and most accurate way), and use a compass to draw the right sized concentric circles on the backing paper of the decal film. Carefully cut them out, and you have your own whitewall decals.

Even better would be a circle template that you buy at an art or drafting supply shop. No need to buy a compass, no need to buy calipers. Just draw the circles on the paper backing using the templates. Lay the template over the tire first to determine the OD and the ID and then draw the circles and cut.

I also have a circle template specifically devoted for painting whitewalls that I tape tires to. I airbrush an ivory/off-white flat acrylic onto the visible surface, and it works quite well. A compass is a royal PITA to deal with IMHO. I recently sprayed whitewalls on my Revell 1/12 Chopper tires using this method. It was a bit tricky, but worked. It's much easier on the more solid tires in 1/24 scale.
