Questions about buying a 300ZX

ok if you guys dont know me its me danny you can check out my other topics to find more about me but I was really interested about this 300zx and I wanted to know what you guys thought.
Its a 1996 300zx N/A 2+2 ( The exact car I want because I dont like the coupe and insurance is cheaper on 2+2, and I can have ppl sit in the back :-D )
It has 72k miles..whell 73 now I called him today, he said he bought it from an insurance auction, and it was in an accident where the driver door was hit but they ffixed it now, and its really clean and stuff.. i have 3 pictures I will upload after this... He said there is nothing wrong with the engine at all and he agreed to let me take it to a Nissan Dealership to check it out fully. So because of the accident it has a salvage title.. Please tell me what you guys think of it and how much it is worth, in you guys (the experts :-) ) opinion.
Thanks in advance
-Danny

Well im no expert on the 90-96 Z's, but if you could pick that up for like 3 or 4 grand it sounds like it would be well worth it! Be careful though and find out what your states laws are on salvage titled cars because you may not be able to register it to be street driven. Other than that just be leary of frame damage from the accident. If the car pulls or handles wierd don't buy it because you'll never be able to fix it!:grey:

Hmm

Nice car...I'd say around 7-9k ...at best offer him 9,000...offer him that much...and remind him that it has been in an accident and that door although fixed is not the same and will not be the same again...

The stripes on the side and hood need to go though...IMHO

I personaly wouldn't buy it just because of the wreck. The 90-96 Z doesn't have a frame they are all unibody's which for those of you that don't know the car is held togeather but body panal's and such it's all welded together. If the wreck wasn't that bad I seriouly dought they would have put a salvage title on it. I would at least chech to make sure the door is the same width all the way around and I would for sure do a car fax on it. If you give me the VIN # I can do one for you. And as far as the asking price that is way to high. The car has a salvage title and if I was to buy it I would only offer him 7 for it and see what he does. Remind him about the unibody and salvage title. Make sure when you talk to him you sound like you know what your talking about. Or he'll think he's going to pull one over on you. If you lose this car I wouldn't sweet it I'm sure there are some better deals out there and it is probably best to wait for. If you need anyother advice you know my AIM name just let me know. OO and another thing ask for the mantaince paperwork on it. Make sure the 60k tune up was done. But other then that the car looks clean. Min's the gay ass strips.
