testor's primer and pearl powder
would anyone like to share their experience and opinons on this type of primer? i haven't used primer in any of these models. i've been using black tamiya acrylic with pretty good results. wanted to try priming my next model.
also, when adding pearl powder, how much is 'enough'? thanks for the comments! a. |

Do not use Testors primer! It dries slow and doesn't sand well, and is not compatible with many lacquers. The amount of pearl powder is up to you, but it doesn't take much. The best way to use it is to put your color down, let it dry, then mix your powder's in clear and spray over your color coat. Next, put a coat or two of straight clear over those coats to seal the powder, and get a better effect.

Tamiya makes great primers grey and white, the white seems a little finer. If you have had to do allot of body work(filler etc.) use a good Automotive filler primer.
