McRae leaves Ford

And other stuff...

So it's official. And he's likely to go to Citroen next year as he's already visited their factory and praised the Citroen team (same sign as Eddie Irvine saying good things about Jordan F1 team all of a sudden ) That leaves Carlos and Markko at Ford. Or does it? After San Remo Markko said that the information they gathered at the rally will help them to make a better effort at next year's tarmac events, soooo ... I guess he's staying. Unfortunaley, as I'd loved him to go to Pug.

Marlboro seems to be shifting their teams at the end of the year. Not only do they leave Mitsu to go to Pug, but also the Yamaha works MotoGP team. Guess they won't be leaving Ferrari F1 any time soon

That might actually turn out to be a good thing for Ford. I'm sure they didn't want to lose McRae... but they've been looking for room in the budget for the development of a new rally car. McRae moving to another team would free up a big amount in the budget.

It has been confirmed by Citroen that McRae has signed a 1 year contract with them, which is good, since I am not a fan of either the driver or the team.
I understand that Duval will be the 3rd driver at Ford, so I would assume thet El Matador will stay there, with his 2 'under-studies'
I am about to buy a Focus as my second car(keeping the Subura mind, when will Pug come to USA so I can build a full collection of 'Rally' cars?), I am glad McRae has left ford as I would hate for even .01c of my money to end up in his pocket Now I feel safe in supporting them....hehe.....
