I got a New TOY!

Yep.

I bought me another Nova. I saw it when I was working a few weeks back. And inquired about it. She's a 72 Nova with a Blown up 350. Body is straight with only 2 small spots of rust the size of quarters, nothing that cant be fixed in 20 minutes. The Interior was completely redone and is near perfect, only a few blemishes which wouldnt take much to fix.

Apparently the kid who owned it was a spoiled brat and ran it into the ground. I guess Mommy and Daddy bought it for him. So after only a month of having it he blew up the motor due to lack of Oil on the freeway. Yay for me, Boo for him. So with a settled price of $2000 i get a car thats 30 years old, smog excempt and only has 108k on the Clock. Minimal Miles!

So time to switch what i can, or care to switch from the old tired 70 who's body is wrinkled in some spots, has cancer in others, and its interior. Well lets say it needs an Interior all together.

Hopefully i can upload a picture of the new baby in the Family.

Well, the plan is to pull the Blown motor out of the 72. Then swap in the 383 into the 72.

After thats all done and taken care of Im going to pull the blown up 350 apart and see if i can salvage it. TV and I pulled the Valve Cover and found chunks of random metal the size of corn. So we're thinking its pretty much toast. But who knows?

OH, something i also forgot to mention.

We came to the conclusion it didnt blow due to lack of oil. There's plenty there, its dirty as hell. But its still there.

Check Radiator. Dry as a freaking Bone. Engine lost all coolant and more or less melted. This just looks better and better doesnt it? hahaha.

GOOD GOING WHOEVER YOU ARE THAT OWNED IT BEFORE!

hahah idiots.

I was pulling the vaccume hose from the carb to the charole (sp) scrubber and fluid flew into my face, at first I was like "AAAAIIIIEEEEE" then I realised it wasnt burning, and looked at it, it was coolant...probally the only coolant in the whole car So the fact that was in the carb/intake/smog system isnt very good sign eather

<documentary narrative>

This is a rare opportunity to observe the southern Californian auto enthusiast in their natural habitat. Soon they will head to the strip, and two or more will compete for dominance.
