Ferrari F50 Ref Pics

I'm working on the Tamiya F50 and using the new Crazy Modeler PE Set
and have been searching Google etc for some good pictures of the Interior and Engine bay without much luck.
Also been looking for other peoples builds here but on being 3 letters F50 it seems to find nothing, Can anyone help ?
The other question is which Scale Motorspot CF/Kevlar is best to use instead of the crap tamiya supplied ones to best represent the 1:1
Thanks

Here's a good start Steve, except they're US Spec...

However, the details should help.

Try here Steve an F50 getting a clutch replacement, some great mechanical shot. http://www.exoticcarsite.com/gallery...8460&g2_page=1

HTH Mike.

EDIT What carbon fiber will you be using Steve? I started mine a week ago and can't tell whose C/F to use, since you have all the sheets there what do you suggest?

Re: Ferrari F50 Ref Pics

I had no idea CM had done a set for the F50. Hopefully it's better than the wretched S27 set.

I did this one a couple of years ago, and wrote it up as best as I could. I used SMS carbon kevlar (gold dots on black). It looks decent- but pics I've seen of the F50 don't show alot of woven pattern on the composite parts. If I did it again, I might very well just spray everything in bronze, and then spray on a clear smoke over it.

Replacing the rear grille is definately a challenge. Even if the PE part fits, it's tedious demanding and difficult work to cut up the clear kit part. Be warned, the clear plastic frame will almost definately break on you at multiple points as you're gluing the PE mesh on- but be patient and don't loose the bits and it can be pieced back together.

The rear dampers could certainly stand to be replaced with turned parts. My thread shows what mine look like.

As for refernces, I did mine completely with online pics like what people posted above- some of those very pics, actually.

Good luck with it, I'll keep an eye out for your thread. If you need anything else, as ever just ask.

Re: Ferrari F50 Ref Pics

Does anyone know about or have a picture of the underside detail?
I don't know if the bottom is all CF or has a composite (plastic) cover.
I've been itching to get back to my giallo F50.

Re: Ferrari F50 Ref Pics

Wow, I really want to take on a F50GT now! I studied the supplied pics here and it seems quite easy?!

Anyone achieved this yet with a stock F50?

I just looked over it, looked like great progress. Have you just been too busy with other stuff? Looks like you are pretty much there.........
