Unhappy Manual Ecu for Automatic? Will it work?

Can anyone reply to this plz
My Ecu for a automatic 92 prelude type S burned out but my friend gave me another Ecu from a Manual 92 prelude type S. I was wondering will the replacement work or if not, what can i do to make it work?

Send the ECU in to get it re-programed. The ECU is what tell the tranny to shift and when. That ECU will not work the way it is. If I am wrong someone please correct me.
