E55 ohh what could've been

Drivin to work this morning, I pulled up behind an E55 turning on to the freeway (big 'ol E55 and AMG badging, couldn't mistake it). As we both turned on to the onramp, I tried moving to the right lane to stage but was blocked in by a frikin Tahoe. I later caught up an pulled next to it. I looked over and the driver was this realy nice looking chick. She looked at me like I was some sort of stalker or something. I kept nudging my head forward but she wouldn't bite. I'm guessing it was her husbands car. Anyway, we didn't race but I really, really wanted to.

I had a previous encounter with one of these cars on PCH and I got to admit that punk teen driving daddy's Benz got the drop on me. Granted he had a 0.5 sec head start but I didn't think it would take me over a 1/4 mi. or so to catch up (god I hope he wasn't letting up on the gas).

Any of you had any experiences with these guys? I should be able to take 'em right? I've looked at its numbers and there pretty damn close. What do you guys think?

Personally, I think it would be a close race. The numbers are really close for the E55 and the SS.

damn good guess RedNeck383

I ran into the E55 with the punk teenager coming back from Long Beach on PCH near Redondo/Manhattan Beach Area. I live in Pasadena. There's plenty of nice cars out here too but not many people who like to run em. Which strip do you go to? I found out Irwindale is only a 1/8 mi strip. The only 1/4 mi I could find is in Palmdale

haha which track do i go to? i dont, my car is broken.

i went to a track like 4 years ago, and i cant remember which one it was... i know that sounds terrible. But im guessing it was irwindale.

Pasadena, ooo fun places to go up there... just a bit aways is Bob's Big boy in Burbank. You go there Friday nights? Minimal Imports, mostly all classics... some exotics too.

When the Nova gets running... which maybe when Hell freezes over... we should go AMG hunting! hahaha

by the way.. anybody know what the forecast for HELL is this weekend?

Thanks 4 the Bob's Big boy info RedNeck. I've been to the in-n-out over there and found mostly imports and a frikin overcrawded small parking lot. I'm new to the whole performance/muscle car scene (1.3k on the odo) and am looking for places to hang.

I'd be up for an AMG hunt. hunt the AMG ... hunt the AMG ... Maybe I'll luck out and see the car again tommorrow. And maybe this time the husband will be drivin

bobs has been goin on sence the 40's if I'm not mistaken, my girls dad used to bring his cars there.

Its called cruse night, its really just showoff time, but its cool as hell.

In ventura county you can go to the "races" but dont bother unless you wanna get in an argument with some honda boy saying the kazoo on his exast can beat any Camaro Just to then argue with John Q Law that your a perfect law abiding citizen...

So yah, go to bobs.

I've had a few encounters with that beast. I am not surprised it took so long for you to catch up with him. In fact its a testament to your car and driving that you could. They are one hell of a find machine (as they should be for around 80K)

They are not the fastest out of the hole or have the highest trap speeds, but they do pull strong through all their gears. The E55 is in the mid 13s for the quarter and the some of the other 55 series are even faster.

Thanks for the info. CBass, Yogs. Mental note, don't f*** around with an SL55. That is a sweet ride. Maybe that mid-life crisis won't be so bad after all. :smoker:

I've never come across one myself, though I'd like to. If you do run into her/him again, be sure and let us know. I for one would like to know how I might fare in the event of coming across one (kinda doubtful here at school).

Have yall seen that new mercedes roadster thats coming out with the supercharged V8? It's supposed to be making around 500hp and well into the 12 second range.
