Angry My Car SMOKES

Does any one know why my car smokes white smoke? Whenever I start the car and let it warm up then I rev it, it smokes white, or whenever I race on a roll on and down it to 2nd gear it smokes white but not a whole lot just a little bit. And I'm concerned about it cause I got a universal muffler that I want to put on it but I'm afraid that it will smoke more due to the less restriction the new muffler and piping will have. Is 2.5 inch better or 2.25 inch? But does anyone else have this problem cause someone had once told me that most of all 4th gens smoke when you down them or rev them up. Any solutions would really help.

first thing, i would do a compression test. if the compression is good, then you're looking at probably oil seal ring being bad or valve seals being bad. if you have bad compression, take the head off and check the cylinder walls for scarring. then check the head for any small cracks or anything.

Since u have a DX I wouldn't go over 2.25" on the piping. I don't know who told u that smoking is normal but NO car should smoke if the engine is in good shape. I have 102k on mine & it runs fine, never a puff.

man ive beat the piece for 2 years w/an 88 dx, and my car smokes like a chimney when i get on it! it sucks reallly bad. but for a temp fix go to autozone and buy the engine restorer junk in a small shiny can, and put it in w/your next oil change. its guaranteed to raise compression. ive got 180,000 miles on my car also. so when it goes, i go to b16!!!!! cant wait!
