Still need help with Garage Shirokuma Evo 7 rollcage
I'm still trying to figure out how the rollcage fits into this car.
The car in question is the Garage Shirokuma Lancer Evo 7. ![]() Do the areas with the red arrows on the dashboard mark where the roll cage can be mounted? They look like air-conditioning slots and the reference photos don't reveal much. The red arrows at the rear are where I've drilled mounting holes. I'm not sure how accurate this is either. Is the real car even supposed to have 2 rear seats? |

The real car probably doesn't have rear seats in it. Of course the kit company isn't going to tool up a whole new interior tub without a rear seat.

In that case, does anyone know where I can find reference photos of a lancer evo 7 interior minus the rear seats?

large pic, bad angle:

Here you can see the non-back seat in an EVO VI (?)

Speaking of which, this one's a nice scheme:

For the front of the cage, those two uprights should come down behind the dash an not cut into it.

Behind the dashboard, as in between the driver and the dashboard, or between the dashboard and windscreen?

Between the driver and the dash - the driver sits behind the dash, the windscreen is infront of the dash.
Have a look at the proportions of the cage with the car. I'm guessing its something like this??????

Okay, I'm convinced there're no rear seats in the real car now. I tried moving the rollcage backwards as in your photo and the rear seat is in the way.
Looks like I'll have to remove the rear seats. Does anyone have any tuned car magazines with photos of the interior tub of evo 7s? I was looking through a stack of old option magazines and realized that not only are there no evo7 interiors shown, there aren't even any lancer evolutions in the issues I have. |

One piece of advice, make sure to test fit your roll-cage, making sure it doesn't contact any of the windows before you glue it, as for pics, I found none.

The interior is likely to be not much different to the lancer rally cars, why not use those for guidance?
