The world was caught off guard when Honda came out with their Civic line in 1984. Honda made a huge splash that year, and really made to world take notice. Each variation was like a totally different car. My favorite was the CRX. They were selling for scandalous amounts of money over retail. They were HOT! The closest thing today to the '84 CRX is the Mini Cooper.
Tamiya's been draining my wallet for nearly 20 years now. I was so happy when they modelled the CRX's. Looking at these nearly 20 year old kits brings back memories. They're like "solid" used cars, a bit crusty and dusty but still look decent after a bath and a polish. Man, my building skills have improved since I built these! The photos flatter them, they're rather crude...but still cool nonetheless. ![]() I was nearly giddy when they followed up w/the Mugen Pro CR-X. This is probably where the whole Honda street tuner phenomonon began. ![]() This color still looks modern, it's Testors Turn Signal Amber. These rims are pretty lame, eh? I'm tempted to see what some more modern rims might look like on it. Heck, the ones from the Civic Type R or any Integra would probably work...

Very cool, but I don't think I would have built them stock out of the box. Would look very
with wheels/kit/etc....
