Blast from the past

Talk about a blast from the past. I’m sitting here listening to the radio at work and they’re playing “Linger” by the Cranberries. It’s ages since I heard that song. It’s scary how quickly time goes by. Also makes me feel kinda old considering I remember when that song was in the charts!

So do I...I had the CD for quite a while but it got traded in when I desperately needed Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.

My little brother, who's 9 now, used to sing 'Linger' when he was 3.

Wow, now that is another song I'd practically forgotten!

I just heard The Verve Pipe's "Freshmen" the other day which was a trip back atleast 5 years ago!!!

edit: yes, I did know who it was by... My brain got ahead of my typing! :o

I remember two versions of that song...one version I hated, which was The Verve's version. I think there's another that sounds much better.

"The Freshman" was done by The Verve Pipe, not The Verve (who suck in my opinion)

You're right. I was trying to remeber which is which but couldn't. They both released hits at about the same time...Speaking of the 'Bittersweet Symphony' Verve, I have the issue of Rolling Stone with the lead singer on the cover, and he's got the 'crack whore' look down pat. Ecch.

You guys have clearly never listened to the rock. :ylsuper 90.2

Or of course if your feeling a bit older you can try classic hits 97.4
If you want old rock music theres Hauraki 99
and then for those easy listening old timers theres i98 at 98

Yes thats right, there are other radio stations out there than the standard modern pop crap playing More FM and pr 91.8 or heaven forbid channel Z :apuke

(and any one who mentions Mai FM gets banned! )

But then again at the end of the day all Radio is just comercial garbage. Some of it is better than others, but none of it serves any other purpose than making other poeple money.

So thank god for my CD player and Flying Nun records!

Internet radio rules. A zillion stations, no commercials, absolutly free. I just listen to jazz and big band, so it's all before my time anyways.

let me guess, it Bliss? and I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that its NZ music month.

Im just sick of Z going on about how much rock music they play right before some Hip Hop or POP crap comes on. Besides thier Target audiance is the 13-18 yr old age group. Not really my scene.

The rock might be a bit crass at times, but at least I better fit thier target demographic.

And P-Man dont you even joke about listening to radio pasfic and national radio. The other week I had a loan car which only had an AM radio. :finger: :finger: :finger:
