disassembling...

Any tips on how to disassemble a model? I need to take apart an unpainted engine so I can paint it and put it back together...

My guess is rubber cement. I glued it when I was 11, and I know better now. It's also unpainted.

I'm actually in the middle of doing this too. I've just been using an exactly knife and gently slicing along the seams.

Depending on the glue, putting it in the freezer for several hours will
make the glue brittle and easy to seperate !

Sounds like a good idea, although, why not just throw it in a fire for 5?

If it was rubber cement, i dont see how it could have stuck in the first place? If it was super glue then the freezer method might work but if it was regular model glue, then prising it apart is about the best way to do it.
